- Tire Ring Base inhibits movement of drum on road surface; textured skirt increases friction and grabs tire; anti-roll design, flat sections on two sides.
- The Tire Ring Base is made from truck tire sidewall sections.
- It's economical and easy to use and provides all the ballast you'll need to hold a drum in place, even in the windiest conditions.
- The tire ring eliminates the need for sandbags that tear or break leaving messy sand on the roadway.
- The rubber tire ring "grips the road" and minimizes drum movement and rotation.
- Commander drums (with tire rings) have been impact tested under the direction of NTPEP, the national testing organization. Not only does the tire base outperform other drum base designs, it is very good for the environment to keep them out of landfills!

About Channeling Devices
Channelizing devices include cones, tubular markers, vertical panels, drums, barricades, and longitudinal channelizing devices. The function of channelizing devices is to warn road users of conditions created by work activities in or near the roadway and to guide road users. Listed below are MUTCD highlights. Refer to MUTCD for more information.
- All channelizing devices shall be crashworthy.
- Channelizing Cones shall be a minimum of 18" in height for daytime and low speed roadways under 40 mph. (See Figure 6F-7)
- Channelizing Cones shall be a minimum of 28" in height with (2) stripes for night, freeway and high speed roadway over 45 mph. (See Figure 6F-7)
- Stripes shall be 3" in size and meet minimum retro-reflectivity standards. (See Figure 6F-7)
- Warning lights may be added to channelizing devices for added driver visibility.
