NFPA 1901 SECTION 5.8.3 Miscellaneous Equipment
(18) Fire Trucks shall carry one traffic vest for each seating position, each vest must comply with ANSI/ISEA 207, standard for high-visibility public safety vests, and have a five point breakaway feature that includes two at the shoulder, two at the sides, and one at the front.

- For daytime and nighttime activity, flaggers shall wear high-visibility safety apparel that meets the Performance Class 2 or 3 requirements of the ANSI/ISEA 107–2010.
- Color shall be fluorescent orange-red, fluorescent yellow-green, or a combination.
- The retroreflective material shall be orange, yellow, white, silver, yellow-green, or a fluorescent version of these colors.
