MUTCD Guidance
Per MUTCD/SHS guidance, the bicycle and/or pedestrian symbols remain facing left regardless of arrow direction. If flipping the symbols to match the arrow direction is desired, the sign must be ordered as a Custom Legend Sign by calling customer service at 1-800-367-1492.
R1-5e
The R1-5d Yield and R1-5e Stop for Pedestrians Signs are new sign legends for a new designation called Trail Crossings. MUTCD 11th Edition Section 2B.19 p. 81 | Figure 2B-2. p. 82
This new legend has both a bicycle and pedestrian icon. This 36x42 size sign is for use on multi-lane roads for Trail Crossings.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There are 3 designations for the R1-5 Series:
- Yield (R1-5) and Stop (R1-5b) Here to Pedestrians
- Yield (R1-5a) and Stop (R1-5c) Here to School Crossings
- Yield (R1-5d) and Stop (R1-5e) Here to Trail Crossings
