About Barricade Warning Lights
According to the MUTCD, a series of sequential flashing warning lights may be placed on channelizing devices to increase driver detection. Warning lights shall have a minimum mounting height of 30 inches to the bottom of the lens. Refer to the MUTCD for more information.
- Type A (Low-Intensity Flashing) Warning Lights may be mounted on channelizing devices and are used to warn road users during nighttime hours that they are approaching or proceeding in a potentially hazardous area.
- Type B (High-Intensity Flashing) Warning Lights are used to warn road users during both daylight and nighttime hours that they are approaching a potentially hazardous area. Type B warning lights are designed to operate 24 hours per day and may be mounted on advance warning signs or on independent supports.
- Type C (Steady-Burn) Warning Lights may be used during nighttime hours to delineate the edge of the traveled way. When used to delineate a curve, Type C warning lights should only be used on devices on the outside of the curve, and not on the inside of the curve.

Mounting Brackets Support Guidance
Mounting Brackets allow proper alignment of warning light to meet I.T.E. and MUTCD requirements and have positive stops to eliminate rotation!
- The MUTCD states when flashing warning lights are used in conjunction with signs, they shall not block the sign face.
- According to MUTCD guidelines, warning lights shall be mounted on signs or channelizing devices in a manner that, if hit by an errant vehicle, they will not be likely to penetrate the windshield.
- I.T.E. Specifications require the lights to be mounted with base of the light perpendicular to the ground line.
