Type 2 Object Markers

Type 2 Object Markers are traffic safety signs used to identify obstructions located adjacent to the roadway, such as guardrails, bridge piers, or other fixed objects near the travel path. Unlike Type 1 markers, which indicate hazards within the roadway, Type 2 markers warn of objects close to the edge that could pose a danger if struck. These markers typically feature a rectangular shape with alternating black and yellow diagonal stripes, sloping downward toward the side on which traffic should pass. Their high-visibility design ensures drivers can quickly recognize and avoid hazards, especially in low-light or high-speed conditions. Proper placement and compliance with regulatory standards are essential for maximizing roadway safety.
